Use Claude or ChatGPT for your family

Connect your AI assistant to Rede, and it can help with what your family shares: write to Alfie, put the dentist in the calendar for two people, find the school's dates in your mail. As you, with what you allow.

What it can do

Chat

Read your chats and send a message to one person, to Home or to Family, as you.

Calendar

See and search the calendar, and add, change or delete events for the people you name.

Photos

Find photos and videos by day, by place or by who added them.

Map

Tell you where someone at home is, with a map of the spot and a link that opens them on the map in Rede. Never more than the map shows, and never grandparents or the wider family.

Inbox

Read the family's mail and put the dates it finds in the calendar.

  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector.
  2. Paste https://rede.life/mcp as its address.
  3. Approve it in Rede on your iPhone, choose what it may do, and type the code Rede shows on the page.

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, add a custom connector (under Settings, in Apps or Connectors; some plans call it developer mode).

Approve it on your iPhone

Rede shows who is asking and where from. Switch off what it shouldn't do, tap Approve and type the code Rede shows on the page. Nothing is connected until you do.

You stay in charge

    Reading chats, sending messages, the calendar, photos, the map and the mail are separate switches when you approve it.

  • Everyone at home sees it

    Your household sees which agents are connected. Each person at home sees when an agent asked where they are, and can keep agents off their location.

  • No share links, invites or email

    An agent can't make share links, invite people or send email, and it only changes things inside your family. Each agent may send or delete 20 messages, make 30 calendar changes and ask 30 times where someone is in an hour.

  • Mail stays mail

    Text from mail and chats reaches the agent marked as written by others, to help it tell information from instructions. Check what it does on your behalf.

  • Cut it off any time

    In Rede under Settings → Agents. Tokens for scripts last 30 days, 90 days or a year, or until you delete them if you choose so.

What an agent reads goes to the company behind it (Anthropic, OpenAI or the one you choose), under its terms. Read more in our privacy policy.

For developers

The MCP server is https://rede.life/mcp (Streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, dynamic client registration and client ID metadata documents). The same tools are a REST API at https://api.rede.life/v1/agent, described in OpenAPI. Personal tokens are made in the app.

The rede command

  1. Download it with curl -O https://rede.life/rede.mjs, or install it with npm install -g rede-cli (it needs Node 20 or newer).
  2. Run node rede.mjs login, or make a token in Rede under Settings → Agents and set REDE_TOKEN.
  3. Ask it things: node rede.mjs where Alfie, or say "On my way" --to Home, or events --week. Add --json for your own scripts.
