Rede vs Life360
A Life360 alternative for the whole family
Life360 is built around safety on the road. In Rede the map is one of five things, next to the calendar and the chat where you sort out who's picking up Alfie.
For crash detection, SOS and driving reports, get Life360. Rede's map is simpler. It shows where everyone is and how much battery they have left, in the same app as the family's calendar, chat, photos and email, and you pay for it once instead of every month.
Pick Rede if
- You'd like the map in the same app as the calendar and the family chat
- $10 to $25 a month for a map feels like a lot
- Everyone in the family has an iPhone
Pick Life360 if
- You want crash detection, SOS and driving reports
- Someone in the family uses Android
- You want a notification when Alfie gets to school or Emma leaves work

What Life360 does better
Safety. Crash detection, driving reports, alerts when someone arrives somewhere, and SOS with emergency dispatch on the higher plans. Rede has none of that. Life360 also works on Android today. In 2021 The Markup reported that Life360 sold precise location data to data brokers, and the company later said it had moved to aggregated data only. Rede has no ads and sells no data.
